"La Riserva" Restaurant - from 1935
It was 1935 when Rosa Bove, passionate about cooking, assisted by his daughter Lena, decided to open a small restaurant in Ventimiglia.
The natural and typical cooking of the Restaurant "Antonio" immediately attracted the many soldiers in the area, during World War II.
Vincenzo Rotondaro, Rosa's son, after his marriage to Tosca, decided to restructured an old family home and founded in 1966, the Hotel and Restaurant "La Riserva di Castel d'Appio", which became in a few years a point of reference for an elite clientele.
Important personalities (among all we mention the great painters Mordillo, De Chirico and Salvador Dalí) appreciated the sophisticated cuisine based on fish and the panoramic view overlooking the sea, spreading the fame of "La Riserva" throughout Europe and overseas.
"La Riserva" lent itself over the years as a location for Fashion Shows, Cotillion, Interviews, and even a Film ("Charlotte" by Frans Weiss).
More recently, the kitchen of the restaurant "La Riserva" has been featured in National Television Programs ("Linea Verde" and "La Vita in Diretta" on RAI 1) and International (N3 Germany, Discovery Channel).
Today "La Riserva di Castel d'Appio", run with passion by the same family, is still a living symbol, and its cuisine, always based on homemade products and typical italian and ligurian kitchen, is still a living symbol, and mentioned in all the most famous guides of the World.
